We should start at the beginning...

Our Excel-lent Adventure began in early August, 2007. That's when we closed on our 'stick' home in north central Iowa. We had purchased an "excel-lent" 2005 Excel 5th wheel to serve as our home on the road. To pull it a 2008 Ford F-150 was ordered from the factory.

We had decided to fulltime RV during a long trip during the winter of 2006-2007. That RV excursion was taken to check out possible locations to retire away from the nasty Iowa winters. Well, a long story short says that we loved RVing so much we figured we could buy a 'normal' retirement home when we couldn't or didn't want to RV anymore.

We sold 95% of our stuff at an auction and an estate sale the first week in August...that included the house, furniture, cars, tools, kitchen stuff, clothes, games, books, electronics, and yes, we said good-bye to our snowblower! Without a 'stick' home, we took residence in Emery, SD, with vehicle registration, drivers licenses and voting registration in the State of Great Faces.

We roamed the upper midwest for about a month and a half, visiting friends and relatives as we assumed we wouldn't see them again until they thawed out next spring. We also attended the fall Escapee Rally in Goshen Indiana. Since then we have worked our way through Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and Nevada. After spending Christmas and New Year's Eve in Pahrump, NV, we have "settled in to areas in southern Arizona, and have been here from mid January to the present.
